Evelyn Juanita Hamilton, age 93, of Lexington, NC died December 15, 2009, in Alston Brook Nursing Center after declining health. She was born November 3, 1916 in Guilford County to the late Fred Walter Easter, Sr., and Mary Clement Easter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Marcus Hamilton, Sr.; Seven brothers, Gilmer Easter, Crawford Easter, Jim Easter, John Easter, Oscar Easter, Kenneth Easter and Norman Easter; three sisters Mary Easter, Eunice Vaughn and Artie Jones, also preceded her in death.. Funeral services for Mrs. Hamilton will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday, December 18, 2009, at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Rowland, Bro. Webb Athay and Bro. Billy Joe Athay officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:30 P.M. Friday, in the Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the daughter’s home, Jean Parlier, on Sweetbriar Drive. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Hamilton was a retired Sales Clerk at McCulloch’s Jewelers and was a life time member of Trinity United Methodist Church. “Nanny”, as she was affectionately called, will be greatly missed by her family and friends for her sense of humor and humble spirit. The family would like to thank the staffs of Carolina House and Alston Brook for the care they gave ‘ Nanny”. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Parlier and her husband Gib of Lexington; one son Marcus Hamilton and his wife Kaye of Charlotte; two brothers Fred Easter of Asheboro and S.C. Easter and his wife Mevlyn of High Point; 5 grandchildren, Lee Athay and his wife Theresa, Marcia A. Myers and her husband Charles, Webb Athay and his wife Barbara, Devin Hamilton, and Lyn H. Millward and her husband Craig; 8 great-grandchildren , Miranda Athay, Melinda Athay, Danielle Athay, and Billy Joe Athay, Nathan Myers, Cole Millward, Chloe Millward, and Conall Millward. Memorials may be directed to, Trinity United Methodist church, % Donese McBride, 105 Choctaw Drive, Lexington, NC 27295, or to the Boy Scout Troop # 230, % Webb Athay, 340 Heath Lane, Lexington, NC, 27292.
