Joyce Everhart Smith, 85 of Lexington went to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. The funeral will be at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Stephen W. Pillsbury and the Rev. Charlie Patrick officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Reformed Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at Piedmont Funeral Home. Joyce was the 12th child born to Frank & Kate Pluck in Braintree, Essex, England in 1926. She met and married John Samuel Everhart during WWII. He preceded her in death in 1977. She was remarried to Sidney Vestal Smith, who also preceded her in death in 1984. All of her brothers and sisters preceded her in death also. She had been retired for several years, but had worked at Duracell Battery Plant for many years. She also worked for Dr. Reid as a chiropractic assistant until his death, and then for Dr. Rob Schick. Joyce is survived by her daughters Tammy Pack and Brenda (John) Haywood; grandchildren Zachary Pack, Kevin (Missy) Benton & Angela Martin. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
