Josie Lenora Hill Shoaf, 91 of Leonard Road, Lexington, died Saturday at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by Rev. Ray Hahn. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Shoaf was born December 14, 1915 in Davidson County to Augustus Hill and Florence Mize Hill. She had been active in her church as a member of the Ladies Bible Class, and Church Choir. She was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was also a former member of the Davidson County Chorus Group. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Adam Shoaf; her infant son, John Wayne Shoaf; her brothers: Percy Hill, Lewis Hill, Manie Hill, and Gentry Hill; and a great-grandson, John William Sidden. Surviving are her daughters: Brenda Bryant, and Donna Clodfelter and husband, Jack, both of Lexington; her grandchildren: Timothy Sidden, and wife, Debbie; and Amanda Parris, and husband, Michael, both of Lexington; her great grandchildren: Rocky Sidden and Luke Parris; a host of loving nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion, her dog: Lucky. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 PM Tuesday at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the home.
