John Bert Carter

John Bert “JB” Carter, 91, of Lexington, died Saturday October 8, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice House. Graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday October 15, 2016 at Fork Baptist Church cemetery, with the Rev. Robert Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12-1 PM prior to the service at the church. Mr. Carter was born in Davie County on September 24, 1925 to the late George Kenneth Carter and Dora Nance Carter. He was owner and operator of Carter Amoco for many years and was a member of Fork Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Lucy Hendrix Carter of the home; daughter, Kathy Carter Deese (David) of Mauldin,SC; grandchildren, Angela Deese and Christopher Deese of Mauldin,SC; brother, Kenneth Carter of Lexington and sister, Dolly Lemly of Lexington. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to, Fork Baptist Church, 3140 US Highway 64 East, Mocksville, NC 27028, or to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
