Mrs. JoAnn Wood Adams, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 3, 2025.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 6, 2025, in the Timberlake Chapel at Piedmont Funeral Home in Lexington. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Piedmont Funeral Home.
Mrs. Adams was a retired CNA, remembered for her caring heart and dedication to her family and those she served. She loved feeding the birds, reading her Bible, and gardening. She found great joy in her church, House of Hope Worship Center, which was dear to her heart.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Berley Elwood Adams; brothers Billy Crisco, Gene Crisco, and Ralph Wood; and sisters Lourine Shoaf, Mary Miller, Inez Wood, and Peggy Carter.
She is survived by her devoted children: Darrell Holt (Shirley), Robin Snow (Wayne), Frances Huneycutt (Don), and James Adams (Melissa). Also cherishing her memory are her four sisters: Edna Everhart (Bobby), Mildred Willard, Effie Hutchins, and Carol Whitaker; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Memorials in Mrs. Adams's honor may be directed to the House of Hope Worship Center at 2315 Kepley Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
