Jewell Casper Clontz, 76, of South NC Highway 150, Churchland Community, died Monday, April 20, 2015. A graveside service will be held Friday at 1:00 P.M. at the Clontz Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Terry Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mrs. Clontz was born in Rowan County on May 31, 1938 to the late Milton Jeremiah Casper and Margaret Helen Lowery Casper. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Branford Clontz on December 27, 2015, brother, Tommy Cline and sister, June Chambers. Jewell was the oldest of nine siblings,a homemaker who took good care of her family, and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are sons, Paul Clontz,II (Rhonda) and Ted Clontz of Linwood; John Clontz (Lisa) of Spencer; Austin Clontz and Tyler Clontz of the home; grandchildren, Jordan, Amber, Alyssa, Cory, Landon, Leslie and Madison; brothers, Juan Casper (Sharmen) of Texas, Milton Jeremiah Casper,Jr. (Geraldine) of Thomasville , Jimmy Casper of Lexington, and Joe Casper of Salisbury; sisters, Jackie Reynolds of Lexington and JoAnn Quattrin of Salisbury; and brother-in-law, Jerry Chambers.
