Jesse William Gantt, Sr.

Jesse William Gantt, Sr. 87, of Brian Center Drive, passed away Thursday at Brian Center of Lexington.    A funeral service will be held at 11.00 AM  Monday April 7, 2014 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the  Tom Nussbaum and Carl Nelson officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 10.00 AM in Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte. The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.   Jesse was born in Iredell County on  June 29, 1926 to the late Charlie Baxter and Zella Mae Warren Gantt. He was a retired salesman for Coble Dairy Products , Charlotte, and was preceded in death by his wife Mary Frances Gantt in February of 2006,  a son Randy Gantt, and sisters Ruth Gantt Rhyne and Bonnie Gantt Brown.   Surviving are son, Jesse Gantt, Jr. of Charlotte; daughters Priscilla Bean and husband Eddie of Linwood , and Donna Wrenn and husband Ronald of Lexington; brother Carrol Gantt and wife Rebecca of Lexington; and sisters Lennie Gantt Barnes and husband Wandell of Charlotte, and Lorene Gantt Costner and husband Willie of Bessemer City. Also surviving are five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
