Jerry Dean Sherrill, 67, of Little John Lane, Lexington, died Monday, May 28, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday from the Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Coe officiating. Interment will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. Jerry was born December 24, 1939 in Gaston County, NC to the late William Mitchell and Mildred Louise Smith Sherrill. He retired as owner and operator of Sherrill’s Salvage and was a member of Solid Rock Ministries. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was a sister, Jewel Griffin. He is survived by his wife, Judy Darnell Wood Sherrill of the home, two sons, Tim Sherrill and his wife Cindy, and David Sherrill and his wife Pat, all of Belleview, Florida; five daughters, Becky Hannah and her husband, James, Sherry Hannah and her husband, Johnny all of Belleview, Florida; Gail Sherrill of Statesville; Lisa Lucas and her husband, Robert of Mocksville; Tracy Roberson and her husband, Michael of Lexington; two step daughters, Rebecca Lynn Everhart of Tyro; and Gail Eller of Lexington; a step son, Jimmy Everhart of Lexington; three sisters, Carol Murphy and her husband, Melvin, Gail Matthews and her husband, Jim, and Rachel Conderey all of Lexington. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three step grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence Memorials may be directed to Solid Rock Ministries, 353 Farmer Road, Denton, NC 27239
