Janet Waller Wagner,78, of Lexington gained her Angel Wings Thursday, December 29, 2022 with her family by her side. Mrs. Wagner was born in Davidson County on February 18,1944, to John Henry Waller and Catherine Clodfelter Waller. She was a member of Charity Baptist Church and in her later years Madison Heights Baptist Church where she enjoyed getting together with family, friends, and church gatherings along with helping teach Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. “Mamaw Janet” was an encouraging, generous and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose memory will be cherished forever. She was a homemaker most of her life, a brownie and girl scouts’ leader and in her spare time she enjoyed sewing and reading her Bible which she had read through 17 times and was very proud to have done. She was loyal and faithful to the Word of God and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Lexington Memorial Hospital. She will forever be missed, but God needed her more. Now she is singing with the Angels and walking those streets of gold with loved ones before her, and now waiting on the rest of the family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Wagner, her brother “Shorty” Ronald Waller, and her daughter and granddaughter, Jana & Courtney Lemly. Left to cherish her memory are loving children Terry Wagner (Belinda) and Rhonda Smith Lankford (Ricky) both of Lexington; three grandchildren Nelson Wagner (Samantha), Melissa Ketner (Steven), and Michelle Smith (Wesley); seven great-grandchildren Hunter, Jax, Calleigh, Addie, Madison, Aubree & Bailey; and brother James Homer Waller. The family will receive friends on Monday January 9th from 6-8 pm at Charity Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 10th at 2:00 pm at Charity Baptist Church located at 1912 N NC Hwy 150 Lexington, NC 27295 with Preacher Brady Lowery officiating. Graveside service will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Flowers may be sent to Piedmont Funeral Home.
