James Lowe Thompson, Jr., 58, of Giles Road, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father, Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in Denham Springs, Louisiana. A celebration of life service will be 5 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2011, at his mother’s home on Giles Road. James was born June 22, 1953, in Davidson County, to James Lowe Thompson, Sr. and Wanda Booe Thompson. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and was an independent trucker with Chema Trucking out of Florida. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dakota Wesley Thompson. Surviving in addition to his parents are sons, James Wesley Thompson of Lexington, James Robert Thompson of West Seneca, New York; brother, Chester Willis Thompson of Lexington; sisters, Gina Sink, Deby Owens, Susan Owens and Lynn Thompson, all of Lexington, Christy Woodard of Grovetown, Ga.; and grandchildren, Mikaya, Elijah and Micah. Jr. passed on doing what he loved best, riding 18 wheels. He will forever be remembered as 10 feet tall and bulletproof and no one ever told a joke better.
