HEADING: James Edward Pierce James Edward Pierce ,66, of Flynt St. died Friday December 30,2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Lexington Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday January 3, 2012 at Near Calvary Free Will Baptist Church where he was a member with the Rev. Jeffery Walser officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Monday January 2, 2012 at Piedmont Funeral Home. Mr. Pierce was born in Rowan County on January 3, 1945 to the late James Pierce and Mildred Creason Pierce. He was also preceded in death by; brother, Steve Pierce; and sister, Doris Gaze. He was a carpenter by trade. Surviving are wife, Stella Hancock Pierce of the home; sons James “Scottie” Pierce and wife Edna of Lexington; James E. Pierce II of Hickory; daughters, Laura Pierce Mills and husband Clayton of Lexington, Juanita Robinson of Morganton; brother Charles Pierce of Mocksville; sister, Virginia Moon of California; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
