James Matthew Grubb, 82, a resident of Stepp Grubb Road, Linwood, died Monday at his home. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, September 14, 2006, from the Yadkin Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Ayers, and Rev. Wade Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with military graveside rites by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Grubb was born November 19, 1923 in Davidson County to the late Stepp Grubb and Bertha Koonts Grubb. He was a retired employee of Thomasville Furniture Industries, Plant A, and was a charter member of Yadkin Baptist Church in Salisbury. Mr. Grubb was a veteran of the US Army having served during WW II. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were (2) sisters, Mary Grubb, and Sadie Coughenour. He is survived by 3 daughters, Freda O’Quinn and her husband, Timothy of Welcome, Sherri Hall and her husband, Donnie of Lexington, and Teresa Pless of Spencer, 2 sons, Jeffrey Grubb of Salisbury, and Gregory Grubb and his wife, Betty of Southmont, 1 sister, Dorothy Peacock and her husband, Richard of Linwood, 10 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
