James Julius Cope, Jr.

James Julius "Jimmy" Cope Jr.,65, of Old Salisbury Road, died Friday April 6, 2018 at his home.  Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday April 9, 2018 at  Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday at Piedmont Funeral Home.  Mr. Cope was born in Rowan County to the Late James Julius Cope Sr. and Charlotte Mae Reece Cope.  He attended Open Door Baptist Church and was retired from Proctor and Schwartz after 38 years of service.  Surviving are his wife, Joan Lambeth Cope of the home, son, Jason Cope of Linwood, brother, Conley Ivory “Topper” Cope (Janet) of Linwood, sisters, Brenda Cope Weaver (Bobby) of Linwood, Carolyn Ann Cope Waller(Grover) of Rockwell, grandchildren, Gracie Charlotte Cope and Bryson Wyatt Cope.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC
