Jacob Howard Michael

Mr. Jacob Howard Michael, 84, of Happy Hill Road, Lexington, died Thursday at his home after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Reeds United Methodist Church with the Revs. Gary Foster and Wade Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Michael was born on June 13, 1924 in Davidson County to Jacob Howard Michael and Ethel Hill Michael. He was a retired rural mail carrier and a Veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Reeds United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by an infant brother, Franklin Michael and a sister, Eupherzine Cherry. He is survived by his wife of 66 years; Marjorie Hunt Michael of the home, his son, Howard Michael, and wife, Estella, of Lexington; his daughters, Brenda Robertson, and husband, Johnny, of Mocksville, and Barbara Houchins, and husband, Arthur, of Lexington; his grandchildren, Cindy Shoaf and husband, Dennis, Angela Michael, Julie Farris and husband, Tony, Brenda Akers, and husband, David, Michael Pack, and wife, Shelley, Johnny Robertson, Jr, and wife, Tracie, Kristle Shaver, and husband, John, and Tiffany Robertson; his step grandchildren, J. R. Houchins, and wife, Ann, and David Houchins, Sr.; his great-grandchildren, Josh Shoaf, Rebekah Shoaf, Jacob Michael, Brandie Michael, Emilie Farris, Tyler Farris, Randall Akers, Trace Akers, James Pack, Hayley Robertson, Avery Robertson, Ayden Robertson, and Mollie Shaver; his step great grandchildren, Ashley Houchins, Robert Houchins, David Houchins, Jr, and Kylie Houchins; his sisters, Patty Fisher of Charlotte, and Howard Mae Hinson, and husband, Doug, of Lexington; and a special friend, Doug Norman and wife, Toni. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday at the Church prior to the service.
