Herman Prince, 78, of Robert Everhart Road, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by the Revs. Michael Woolard and Tommy Cashatt. Interment will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Prince was born April 23, 1928, in Columbus County to Daniel Franklin Prince and Ada Skipper Prince. He was a former employee of Burlington Home Furniture and Wellington Hall Furniture as long as health permitted. Mr. Prince attended the Church of God in Welcome and Lexington. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were four brothers, Ernest, Woodrow, Walter and Weldon Prince, and one sister, Pauline Prince Anderson. Surviving are his wife, Betty King Prince of the home; three sons and their wives, Howard and Cheryl Prince of North Wilkesboro and Charles and Leslie Prince and Franklin and Nancy Prince, all of Lexington; two brothers, Bill Prince of Bailey and Elmore and Dovie Prince, all Lexington; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and his special cousin, Grace Lanier of Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
