Helen Bernice Thomason Lemly, 84, of Bethesda Road died Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Hinkle Hospice House after a short battle with cancer. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 1 to 3 pm at Piedmont Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at 4pm at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Derrick Boggs of First Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Mrs. Lemly was born February 17, 1927 in Davidson County, the only child of the late Emery Franklin Thomason and Kate Lue McCrary. On August 2, 1942 she married Artless Garland Lemly, Jr. who predeceased her January 15, 2000. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are sons Artless Garland Lemly, III (Art-Buddy), Robert Neil Lemly (Bobby) and wife Lynn Craver both of Lexington, and David F. Lemly of Randleman; daughters, Martha Ann L. Williamson and husband Johnny of Randleman, and Katie Lue Lemly and life partner Elizabeth Harwood of the home. Also surviving are granddaughters, Tiffany Lemly Little and husband Chad, Tamara Lemly Lineberry and husband Larry, Meredith Lemly Scism and husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Masia Grace Little, Miranda Lineberry and Eli Lineberry, Tanner, Conner, and Walker Scism; step-grandchild, Aaron Lineberry, and daughter-in-law, Glenda Everhart Lemly. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC, 27292. They would also like to give a special thanks to all the staff of Hinkle Hospice House.
