Helen Hicks Laws

Mrs. Helen Marie Hicks Laws, 84, formerly of  Salisbury died Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Hinkle Hospice House of Lexington.

A funeral service will be Thursday at 12:00 noon at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. David Robinson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Helen was born August 20, 1940 in Swain County to the late Haskell and Loretta Bowers Hicks. She was a former caregiver at the Life Center Adult Day Care and was a member of Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Lesley Eugene Laws, a daughter Sandra Lynn Spry, a brother Plato Hicks, and a sister Linda Jenkins.

Surviving are sons Michael Laws of Harkers Island, NC and Eddie Laws of Churchland; a brother Hubert Hicks of Bryson City, and a sister, Mary Burrell also of Bryson City.

Also surviving are grandchildren Vincent Laws, Colton Laws, Cody Laws, and Michael Price; and great-granddaughter Emery Ann Laws.
