Harold Lee Caudle, 72, of Hillside Drive died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at his residence. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 18 at 2:00 PM from the Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church with Pastor. Chris Bitterman officiating. Interment with graveside rites by the Lexington Police Department Honor Guard will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. Harold was born in Union County, NC on July 20, 1936 to the late Clyde Caudle and May Williams Caudle. He retired after 28 years of service as a Captain with the Lexington Police Department and had been instrumental in establishing the Crime Stoppers Program. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the VFW post 3074 and the American Legion. He was of the Presbyterian faith. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were two brothers. Harold is survived by his wife, Jean Miller Caudle of the home, his son, Lee Caudle and his wife Rita of Lexington, (3) sisters, Doris Amick of Gaston, SC , Ruth McAlister and her husband Everette of Valdese, and Carolyn Clark and her husband, Herman of Lexington, SC, (3) brothers, John W. Caudle and his wife Ruby of Lexington, Ned Caudle and his wife Ida, and Fred Caudle all of Valdese. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Lori Caudle, and Eric Caudle. The family will be at the home, on Hillside Drive In lieu of flowers memorials in Harold’s memory may be sent to Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church, One Graceway Drive, Lexington, NC 27295 or to Crime Stoppers, 106 N.
