Archie Gray Crews, 92, a resident of Friendship Church Road, died Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 5:25 AM in Lexington Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, October 5, 2007 from the Friendship United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Carroll C. Lupton, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Crews was born in Davidson County on September 28, 1915 to the late Zack and Addie Hartley Crews. He was a retired employee of Dixie Furniture, he was a farmer, and loved to trade horses. He was a member of the Men’s Bible Class at his church. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his wife, Clara Mize Crews, whom he married on November 28, 1936, at her death on November 5, 2005, they had been married for sixty nine years. Also a sister, Lucille Lohr, preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Everhart and her husband Winfred, and Virginia Craver and her husband, Bill all of Lexington;, Grandchildren: Randy Craver, Shirley Leonard, and Tim Everhart, Great-Grandchildren: Zack Craver, Chase Leonard, Amanda Leonard, Carlea Everhart, Hannah Everhart, Kim Kepley, and Jennifer Foltz. Also surviving are four great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Thursday at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
