Gray Allen "Winky" Bass, Jr.

Gray Allen “Winky” Bass, Jr., 31, of Hayden Grove Church Road died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Lexington Medical Center. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 4:00PM, July 10, 2014 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Harold Smith. Burial will follow in Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Bass was born August 8, 1982 in Rowan County to Gray Allen Bass, Sr. and Betty Jean Berrier Bass. He was of the Baptist faith and a former field officer for EnergyUnited. He was preceded in death by his father; grandfathers, Edward Wade Berrier and Horace Grillus Bass, and his grandmother, Elizabeth Ingle Nance. Surviving are his mother, Betty Jean Berrier Bass of the home; sister, Samantha Cline and husband Ernie of Linwood; grandmother Betty S. Berrier of the home; a niece, Jasmine Cline; two nephews, Jaden Cline and Coty Cline; and his best friend, Scotty Pressley.
