Grady Hallman, 93, of Greensboro Street Extension, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston Salem. A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 16, at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Jennings R. O’Neil officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Hallman was born December 12, 1914 in Pierce County, Georgia to Henry Hallman and Marion Blanton Hallman . He was a retired employee of Frank IX and Sons of Lexington, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was his wife, Dorothy Auman Hallman. He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Walters and husband Freeman of Winston-Salem, and Captain Janis Carlton, USN, of Silver Springs. MD: his twin sister Gladys Nicholoson of Clarksville, TN: four grandsons, Ronnie (Tony) Odom of Lexington, Mark Odom of Abilene Texas, Joseph Walters of Blountville, TN, and James Walters of Frederick, OK.: Eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild . Also surviving are three sisters- in- law, Mary Short, and Eunice Beck both of Lexington, Shirley Auman of Salisbury. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home.
