Grace Iola Huffman

Grace Iola Swicegood Huffman, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday August 21, 2018, at the age of 99. She passed away peacefully at home. God has received another angel into his loving arms. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM on Friday August 24, 2018 at Union Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor Ken Harris, Dr. Harold Fletcher, and Pastor T. W. Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday August 23, 2018 at Piedmont Funeral Home from 6-8 PM.  Mrs. Huffman was born on July 11, 1919 to the late Julius Swicegood and Cora Melinda Fritts Swicegood. Grace was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was the last surviving Charter Member of Union Grove Baptist Church.   Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Evie Wesley Huffman; three sons: an infant boy,and Larry and Johnny Huffman; two sons- in- law; Robert and Glenn; one grandson-in- law, Robert; one grandson Jimmy, two brothers, and five sisters.   Grace is survived by her children; Rosa Jean Craver, George Huffman (Judy), Virginia James, Elizabeth Livengood ( Larry) and Barbara Everhart ( Benny). Also surviving are granddaughters Debbie Moon, Dianne Sink ( William), Tina Cooper (Earl), Mary Ann McGee (Keith), Lori Williams (Mike), Gail Kimbrell (Wayne), Crystal Durham (David), Tammy Leonard (Darrell), Wendy Hill (Ronald); grandsons Timmy Huffman, Randy Younts (Tonya) and David James; great-granddaughters Haley (Kenneth), Anna Rose, Tressa (Justin), Ashley, Heather, Maddie and Abbie; great-grandsons; Scott, Drew, Chase, Tanner, Jake (Kelsea), Wesley (Kelty) and Zachary (Lindsay); great-great-granddaughters Reagan and Lillian Grace, and great-great grandsons, Johnny and Landon.  Memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church, 2295 Union Grove Rd., Lexington, NC  27295.
