Goble Ronald Johnson, 78, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, in Forsyth County.
Born on June 26, 1947, in Hancock County, Tennessee, Goble was the son of the late Walter Johnson and Tessie Collins Johnson. He lived a life defined by hard work, passion, and a deep appreciation for the things he loved most.
Goble was a self-employed mechanic who took great pride in his craft. Known for his skillful hands and strong work ethic, he built not only a career but also lasting relationships with those who trusted him. Outside of work, he found joy in collecting cars, immersing himself in the world of comic book superheroes, and embracing the timeless charm of western movies and western style. These passions reflected his unique personality and brought him great happiness throughout his life.
Above all, Goble cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Hedrick Johnson; his sons, Ronald Shea Johnson (Corrine) and Christopher Shawn Johnson (Brittany); and his daughter, Sheree Johnson Lanier. He is also survived by his brothers, Jerrell Truman Johnson, Loal Johnson, and Donnie Johnson (Audrey); his sister, Doris Vanover (Lee); and his treasured grandchildren: Christian Alexander Lanier, Kristen Grace Lanier, Andrew Tyler Lanier, Harleigh Jane Johnson, Katie Ann Johnson, Jeremiah Bradley Johnson, Isaiah Scott Mahala, Elijah Daniel Mullins, and Lexi Nevaeh Kimbrell. Each of them held a special place in his heart.
A graveside service to honor Goble’s life will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Evangelical and Reformed Church Cemetery. Visitation will take place an hour prior, at Piedmont Funeral Home, starting at 3 p.m.
Goble will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of his interests, and the legacy of kindness and strength he leaves behind.
