Gilbert Graham Yarborough, Sr. 83 of Beckner Street, died Tuesday December 15, 2015 at his home. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday at Second Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Brian Rummage and Rev. Bill Sosbee officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Piedmont Funeral Home. Mr. Yarborough was born in Davidson County on May 19, 1932 to the late D. Carl Yarborough, Sr. and Edna Florence Shillinglaw Yarborough. He was a self employed carpenter and taught carpentry at Davidson County Community College. He was prededed in death by his brother, D. Carl Yarborough, Jr. Surviving are his wife Margaret Rowe Yarborough of the home; son, Gilbert Graham Yarborough, Jr. (Kristina) of Bladenboro; daughter,Lynne Yarborough Lee (Charles) of Mocksville; brother, Jerry Yarborough (Cecilia) of Lexington; sister, Alice Ann Yarborough Brinkley of Welcome; grandchildren, Anna L. Childress (Andy), Lydia Jessica Yarborough and Charles “Chad” Lea (Cady), step grandchildren, Kyle R. Kendall (Leslie), Kelly Lynn Francois (Justin) and Cory Kendall, 2 step great grandchildren, nieces, Alisa B. Fritts (David),Martha Ann Elkins and Cynthia R. Hunt, nephews, Cheff Yarborough, Scott D. Brinkley (Sharon), David W. Yarborough (Tracy) Lee Rowe, Tim Rowe and Doug Rowe (Lynn), great nieces, Da Lisa Fritts, Hannah Yarborough and Lainie Yarborough, great nephews, Chris Yarborough, Daniel Brinkley, Austin Brinkley and Thomas Fritts.
