Georgia Gertrude Byerly

Georgia Howard Byerly, 81 of West Old Highway 64, died Monday at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Freedom Baptist Church, where she was a member with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Georgia was born in Forsyth County on December 27, 1933 to the late Oliver and Mary Howard. She was formerly employed with Dixie Furniture. She was preceded in death by her first husband Henry Cleat Burton, sisters and a brother. Surviving are son, Henry Wayne Burton and friend Linda Beasley of Lexington; grandson, Eddie Burton and wife Annette of Lexington; one great granddaughter and two great grandsons.
