George Franklin Williams, 84, of Odell Owen Road died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be Friday at 2:30 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Wayne Lang. Entombment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home, and other times at the home. Mr. Williams was born April 12, 1932 in Davie County to Spencer and Martha Ireland Williams, and was educated in the Davie County School System. He was a furniture pattern builder, and of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elgin Williams, Billy Williams, Pete Williams, Gurney Williams, and Dallas Williams;and sisters, Colleen Vestal, Virginia Beauchamp, Mary Elizabeth Hilton, and Willa Mae Wood. He is survived by his wife, Vada Beck Williams of the home; son RayVon Williams and wife Donna of Lexington; daughter, LeeAnn Justice and husband Jeff; five grandchildren Bryan Williams (Jennifer), Jason Williams (Jenny), Macy Justice, Trevor Justice, and Brandi Moore (Shannon); five great-grandchildren, Capri Williams, Charleigh Williams, Ace Williams, Katelyn Adams, and Riley Moore; his brother, Nathan Williams (Joyce); sister, Alice Rummage (Roland); and multiple nieces and nephews. Also surviving are special family friends, Chris and Debra Wilson, and his special canine companion Badger.
