George Mccarn

George Edward McCarn age 81, of The Meadows of Rockwell, formerly of Lexington, passed away at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, Monday afternoon February 4, 2013. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Center Hill Baptist Church where he was a member, with Rev. Brian Alexander officiating. Burial will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday at National Cemetery in Salisbury. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Piedmont Funeral Home. George was born on November 8, 1931 in Davidson County to George Washington McCarn and Clara Veigh Boswell McCarn. He was retired from Link Taylor Furniture. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim McCarn and sisters, Betty McCarn Edwards and Rosa Lee Hicks. George is survived by: his loving wife of 55 years, Betty Edwards McCarn of The Meadows; son, David McCarn and wife Dianna of Richfield, NC; brothers, Ben McCarn and wife Reba of Lexington and Robert McCarn of Advance; two grand-children Michael and Cody of Richfield, and brother-in-law Wilburn Edwards of Dunngannon VA.
