George Howard Leonard, Sr.

Mr. George H. Leonard, Sr. 73, of Valley Mine Rd. died Monday, March 22, 2021 at his home. A funeral service will be Friday at 2:00 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Wayne Lang. Burial will follow in Silver Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Leonard will lie in state at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, with the family not present. The family will greet friends after the service at the cemetery. Covid-19 protocols are suggested to be followed at all services. Mr. Leonard was born in Davidson County September 29, 1947 to the late Lloyd Warren and Evelyn Dora Webster Leonard. He was a former plant foreman with High Point Sprinkler Company and a member of Lexington Pentecostal Holiness Church of the Living God. Preceding him in death was a sister Carolyn Gordon, and his faithful canine companion Jake. Surviving are his wife, Lois Leonard of the home; sons George Howard Leonard, Jr. (Angie) of Kernersville, David Warren Leonard (Traci) of Asheboro, and Jerry Wayne Leonard (Amy) of High Point. Also surviving are brother Roy “PeeWee” Leonard (Madine) of Thomasville, and sisters Linda Miller (Johnny) of Archdale, and Helen “Shorty” Shearin of Gibsonville, in addition to grandchildren Caitlin and Amanda Trivette, Tiffany Crank (A’Keelah), and Jager Leonard (Morgan), and great-grandchildren Daisy Grace Leonard, and Everleigh Rayne Leonard.
