Garray Cable

Mr. Garray Rufus Cable, 85, of Rochelle Dr. died Monday, July 26, 2021 at Hinkle Hospice House. A graveside service will be Friday at 11:00 AM at Lexington City Cemetery conducted by the Rev. David Langley. Military honors will be presented by the US Air Force and The Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home. Mr. Cable was born October 12, 1935 in Davidson County to the late Rufus McKinney and Naomi Moore Cable. A US Air Force veteran and Mason, he was a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ and had retired from the US Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Leonard Cable in 2010. Surviving are son Garray Roland Cable of Lexington; daughter Melren Elizabeth Cable of Myrtle Beach, SC; and sisters Carolyn Johnson (Ed) of Farmington, and Ruth McSwain of Cooleemee. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
