Fred Vestal Hege

Fred Vestal Hege, 89, of Brian Nursing Center, formerly of the Erlanger community, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at the Brian Center. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Thomas Hicks. Interment will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Hege was born Dec. 9, 1917, in Davidson County to Fred Henry Hege and Minnie Koontz Hege. He was a retired employee of Erlanger Mills and was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his wife, Audrie Allen Hege, and one daughter, Linda Bretz. Surviving are two daughters, Janice Ball and her husband, Charles D., and Nellie Essick and her husband, Roy Theodore "Ted", all of Lexington; one son, Henry Lee Hege of the Erlanger community; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at their respective homes.
