Franklin Donald Griffin, 81, of Old Highway 64 West died Monday at his residence. A private entombment service will be held Thursday at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum with military honors provided by The Davidson County Honor Guard. No visitation will be held. Mr. Griffin was born December 12, 1932 in Davidson County to the late Charles and Flora Bean Griffin. He was retired plant manager with Burlington Furniture Manufacturing, a US Army Korean War Veteran, and a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Fritts Griffin in May, 2012, son, Roger Don Griffin, brothers, Grover, Raymond, Clyde, and Buddy Griffin, and sisters, Sally Mae Greer, Alline Parks, Lela Young, and Peggy Lohr. Surviving are sons Timothy Charles Griffin and wife Liza of Lexington, and Ritchie Craig Griffin and wife Janet of Sarasota, Florida; daughters, Debbie Griffin Lanning and Karen Lynne Everhart both of Lexington; grandchildren, Jamie Hunt, Kenny Griffin, Michelle Martin, Eric Griffin, and Blake Griffin; great-grandchildren, Samantha Hunt, and Hendrix Griffin; and sister, Shirley Edinger of Thomasville.
