Frankie Marie Slaughter

Frankie Marie Slaughter, 82, of US Highway 64 East, died Sunday June 26, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday June 30, 2016 at Lexington City Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Nations and the Rev. Dale K. Breidinger officiating. Burial to follow in the cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 PM prior to the service at Piedmont Funeral Home. Mrs. Slaughter was born in Swain County on August 21, 1933 to the late Ben Nations and Martha Phillips Nations.She was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Lee Stanford. Surviving are her husband, Eugene R. Slaughter of the home; sons, Robert W. Stanford, Farrell D. Stanford of Lexington; Derold L.Stanford of Linwood, Gerald F. Stanford of Randleman; daughter, Debra L. Parker of Lexington; step sons, Mike Slaughter, David Slaughter, B.R. Slaughter all of Rocky Gap, Va.; Andy Slaughter of Bland, Va.; T.J. Slaughter of Lexington; step daughters, Gina Havens of Rocky Gap, Va.; Beth Farris of Archdale; brothers, Earl Nations of Clyde, NC, Lon Nations of Montana; sisters, Myrtle Brooks of Franklin,NC; Barbara Ledford of Easley,SC; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
