Frances Louise Sidden Smith, 79, of Andrew Sink Road died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Tyro United Methodist Church by the Rev. Randy Foster. The body will lie in state at the church thirty minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately after the service until 3:30 PM. A private burial will then follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Louise was born February 23, 1934 in Davie County to the late Rufus Radford and Annie Stewart Sidden. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Shuford Richard Smith in 2005, a son-in-law Dale Bodenhamer in 2007, brothers Nelson and J.R. Sidden, and sister, Magdalene Phillips. She was a member of Fulton United Methodist Church in the Fork Community of Davie County, and attended Tyro United Methodist Church. She retired as owner/operator of Smith’s Nursery. Surviving are two daughters, Judy Ward and husband Lester of Greensboro, and Cathy Bodenhamer Smith and husband William of Lexington; two grandchildren, Jason Ward and wife Amanda of Thomasville, and Adam Ward and wife Rachel of Burlington; and three great-grandchildren, Kalei, Piper, and Connor Ward. Also surviving are brother Bob Sidden and wife Judy of Advance, and sisters Willie Sidden of Advance, Doris Thompson and husband Bill, and Nell Finney and husband Harold all of Lexington.
