Florence Darnell Tuttle

Florence Darnell Tuttle, 99, of West 6th Avenue, died Tuesday, March 3 in Columbus Regional Health Care System in Whiteville. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 6, 2009 at 2:00 PM in Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Wayne Tuttle and Rev. Tim Gainey officiating. Mrs. Tuttle was born in Stokes County, NC on June 23, 1909 to the late John Thomas Darnell and Lilla Estes Davis Darnell. She was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Numa G. Tuttle , her daughter, Adele Yvonne Tuttle, her sister, Georgia Tuttle, two brothers, Garthard Darnell, and Dee Darnell, and a half brother, Frank Reid. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the home, on West 6th Avenue.
