Everette Thomas Leonard, Jr.

Mr. Everette Thomas Leonard, Jr., 79, of Lexington died Monday, January 11, 2021 at Hinkle Hospice House. A graveside service will be Thursday at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church Cemetery, where he was a member, with the Rev. Terry Coates officiating. Mr. Leonard will lie in state at Piedmont Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM Thursday for those wishing to pay their respects. The family will not be present at this time, and Covid-19 protocols are suggested at all services. Mr. Leonard was born in Davidson County November 16, 1941 to the late Everette Thomas Leonard, Sr. and Ora Embler Leonard. Preceding him in death was his wife, Shirley Beck Leonard. Surviving are sons Donald Leonard, and Tommy Leonard (Sandra) of Lexington; daughter Tammy Leonard; sister Clara Goins of Lexington; and three grandchildren. Also surviving is special friend, Kelly Kanupp of Lexington.
