Emil Albert Wahl, age 65, a resident of Tall Oak Court, Lexington, died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 11:50 PM, in Lexington Memorial Hospital, after a short but valiant battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 3:30 PM in the chaepl of Piedmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Jake Sharpe and Rev. Don Eisinger officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will see friends immediately following the committal service, at St. Andrew's United Church of Christ. Mr. Wahl was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on January 19, 1942, son of the late Emil and Mary Fields Wahl and had been a resident there, until moving to Lexington in April of 1987. He was a graduate of Beaver Falls Area Senior High School, Class of 1960. He retired from the former Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Products Division in Beaver Falls, PA, after twenty five years of service, and was a member of Calvary United Presbyterian Church and a member of the AFL-CIO Local Union,1082. After moving to Lexington, he became employed with Lexington Memorial Hospital in Environmental Services, and retired in March 2004. More recently, he was a member of St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, Biesecker Road in Lexington, where he served in the church choir. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was a brother, Richard D. Wahl in 1990. Surviving are is loving wife, Martha Richeal Wahl of the home, a son, Darryl Wahl and his wife, Tammy of Lexington, a daughter, Kimberly Wahl Hanks and her husband, Lynn of Ozark, Alabama. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Christopher Wahl serving with the US Army in Fort Lee, Virginia, and Brandon Wahl of Lexington. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
