Alfred Elwood Younts, 80, of Eastdale Drive, died Friday, February 6 in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 14 at Second Reformed United Church of Christ and a graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM at Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby. Mr. Younts was born July 28, 1928 in Davidson County, to the late James Franklin Younts and Bessie Lee Dorsett Younts. He had owned and operated Custom Built Cabinets and retired from Collingswood Furniture in Winston-Salem. He was of the Protestant faith. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were two brothers, James Younts and Eliston Younts, and two sisters, Estelle McLeod, and Hazel Myers. Mr. Younts is survived by his wife, Mayo Rainey Younts of the Home, two daughters, Desiree Forrest and Beverly “Redgie” Koonts of Concord. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Todd Koonts, and Shane Forrest, three great grandchildren, Ashley Koonts, Shelby Koonts, and David Koonts.
