Elsie Inez Spry

Elsie Inez Broadway Spry, 88, of Old Highway 64, West, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 25, at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ryan Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Spry was born in August 21, 1923, in Davidson County to the late William A. Broadway and Elsie Fritts Broadway. Also preceding her in death was her husband William Kelly Spry who died in 1992; two sisters, Willie Michael and Eddie Mae Wiley. She was a Charter member of Wesley Heights United Methodist Church, and a graduate of Reeds High School. She loved to collect round rocks, drift wood and dishes. Mrs. Spry was a retired inspector at Manhattan Shirt Factory. Mrs. Spry is survived by one daughter, Vicky Spry Moretz and her husband Paul of Lexington; one brother, James F. Broadway and his wife Blanche, of Oak Island, and a brother-in-law, J. D. Michael of Lexington; two grandchildren, Kim Moretz Workman and her husband Phillip of Lexington, and Kelly Dawn Moretz Kingen and her husband Charlie of Lexington; three great-grandchildren, Amanda Workman Hedrick and her husband Bobby, Wrenn Paul Workman , and Austin Charles Kingen of Lexington, two great great- grandchildren,Meredith Hedrick and Landon Hedrick of Lexington. Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday at Piedmont Funeral Home.
