Elsie Mann Cope

Elsie Marie Mann Alexander Cope, age 74, a resident of Allen Drive, Lexington, NC died 7:30 PM Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after a serious illness of 2 months. Elsie was born January 14, 1935 in Guilford County to Annie Mann and Amick Crumpton Mann. She was a retired employee of PGT Industries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alden “Shorty” Alexander. Surviving are husband, Mal Cope of the home; four sons, Bryce Alexander and wife Jeong Heui, Ricky Alexander and companion Dee Dee Smith, Danny Alexander and wife Nancy, Ronald Alexander and wife Tammie, all of Lexington; two step sons, James Cope and Douglas Cope, Sr. both of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Joey Alexander, Tiffany Alexander, Brandy Alexander, Josie Alexander, Annie Alexander, Christopher Alexander, and Grace Alexander. four step-grandchildren, Tim Cope, Amy Cope, Douglas Cope, Jr., and Travis Cope; one great-grandchild, Corbin Crimaudon. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 10, at Church of God of Prophecy, with the Rev. Linda Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, October 9, 2009 at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the home.
