Ella Mae Morris

Ella Mae Leonard Morris, 89, a resident of Greensboro Street Extension, died Friday, November 7. A funeral service will be held Monday, November 10 at 11:00 AM at the Pilgrim Reformed Church where she was a member, with Rev. Barry Surratt and Rev. George Fidler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Morris was born on December 25, 1918 in Davidson County, NC, to Cicero Leonard and Nannie Mae Maley Leonard. She was a graduate of Pilot School, was a homemaker and well known for her cooking, quilting and flowers. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her husband, Odell Kiser Morris, a sister, Beulah Leonard Conrad, three brothers, Joseph Hugh Leonard, Willie Leonard, and Titus Leonard. Surviving are her sons, Wayne Morris and his wife Sheila, Joe Morris and his wife Helen all of Lexington, Dermont Morris of Winston-Salem. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Michael Morris, Jeffery Morris, Jennifer Morris, and Audrey Morris, nine great grandchildren, two great- great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the home, on Greensboro street extension. In lieu of flowers memorials in Mrs. Morris’ memory may be sent to Pilgrim Reformed Church, 797 Pilgrim Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295 or to the Autism Society of NC, Davidson County Chapter, c/o Aimee Tennent, 571 Tussey Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
