Edward Wade Berrier, 81, of Haden Grove Church Road, went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 28, 2010, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, NC after declining health. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 31, 2010 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Harold Smith and Sam Harvey officiating. Interment will be at Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Berrier was born March 13, 1929 in Davidson County to the late Wade Phillip Berrier and Ester Byerly Berrier. Also preceding him in death was a son Edward Wade Berrier, Jr. He was a Master Sgt. in the US Army, serving during the Korean Conflict, stationed at Fort Leonardwood, MO. He worked at NC Finishing Company for 45 years after serving in the Army. Surviving is his wife Betty Smith Berrier; one son James Berrier and his wife, Tonya from Linwood; 5 daughters Jane George and her husband Randy of Southmont, Rebecca Kepley and her husband Lloyd, Betty Jean Bass, Shelia Bowman and her husband Michael and Kerry Bass and her husband Junior all of Linwood; 3 brothers Sherman Berrier of Denton, Mock Berrier and Vestal Berrier of Linwood; 9 grandchildren, Grover Don Berrier and Charlotte Ann Haynes of Linwood, Misty Gibson of Southmont, Steven Kepley of Greensboro, Samantha Jean Cline, Allen Bass, Hayley Nicole Berrier, James Christian Berrier and Pacey Jeremiah Berrier all of Linwood; 9 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the funeral home and other times at the home on Haden Grove Church Road.
