Edgar Lee Scarlett

Edgar Lee Scarlett, of Lexington passed away Monday at Accordius of Lexington. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. Mr. Scarlett will lie in state at Piedmont Funeral Home Wednesday from 2-5 PM and the family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 PM prior to the service on Thursday. Mr. Scarlett was born in Davidson county on August 26, 1936 to the late Levi Scarlett and Bertie Scarlett. He was employed at Thomasville Furniture for 30 plus years and later retired from Link Taylor. He was preceded in death by brothers, Everett Scarlett, Roscoe Scarlett, Farris Scarlett and Archie Scarlett, sisters, Catherine Scarlett, Lillian Scarlett and Alma Scarlett. He was a member of Wayside Baptist Tabernacle. Surviving is his wife, Mary Hedrick Scarlett, son David Scarlett (Lisa) of Lexington, daughters, Wanda Lee Sweeny (Jesse) of Lexington, Sandra Kay Dorsett (Jim) of Lexington, sister, Margie Scarlett. 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
