Earnest Glenn Lemly, 59, of Jess Cross Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Psalm 91, where he was a member, by the Rev. Max Shoaf. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Lemly was born June 16, 1947, in Davidson County to Charlie and Emma Bailey Lemly. He was a former employee of Lexington Home Brands. Mr. Lemly was a volunteer with Southmont Fire Department, where he had served as a captain for 18 years. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was one brother, Raymond Steven Lemly, and a grandson, Kevin Morgan. Surviving are one son, Earnest Glenn Lemly Jr. of Gate City, Va.; four daughters, Sandra Stallings and her husband, David, Glenda Byars and her husband, Paul, Angie Richardson and her husband, Ron, all of Lexington, and Deana Lemly of Gate City, Va.; two sisters, Ann Peace of Virginia and Doris Scarlett of Lexington; one brother, Donald Lemly and his wife, Marsha, of Lexington; and three grandchildren, Andrew, Susan and Mollie Byars, all of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:45 prior to the service Saturday at the church and other times at the home of a daughter, Angie Richardson, 1919 W. Center St. Ext., Lexington, NC 27295. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Piedmont Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
