Earl Dean Crouse, age 83, of Lexington, passed away at his home on August 16, 2024. Earl was born September 2, 1940 to Clive and Jean Crouse in his grandparent’s home in Sparta, NC. He was fortunate to grow up in the mountains surrounded by a loving extended family and friends. He had so many fond memories of his family, especially times spent on his parent’s property on the New River. In his youth he was a Boy Scout and eventually became a Scout Master. Earl had a passion for sports and loved to play football, basketball, and baseball. Earl and his family moved to Elkin in 1970 where he was an active participate in his community. He was Chairman of the Elkin Jaycees, but was most proud of becoming Master of the Elkin Masonic Lodge in 1977. He was also a Lodge Mentor where he provided guidance and support to new members. Earl eventually moved to Lexington where he spent many years as a Purchasing Agent in the furniture industry with most of those years spent at Commercial Carving in Thomasville. Among Earl’s fondest memories were the years spent with his loving wife, Lynda, as well as their close friends at Saddle Ridge Campground. They had so much fun together and enjoyed lots of laughs, trips, and golfing together. This group of friends as well as other close friends have provided so much strength, love and support to Lynda during Earl’s illness. Earl is survived by his wife, Lynda, two daughters Regina Landry (David), Lorie Mast (Jeff), nephew Tim Hall (Ginger); three grandchildren Alec Landry (Mary), Olivia Mast (Landon Powell) and Rachael Mast (Carly Kline). A Celebration of Life will be held at Tyro Methodist Church on September 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
