Dr. Bobby Snider

Dr. Bobby Eugene Snider, 80, of Shoreline Drive, died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.   A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at First Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Revs. Dr. Ray Howell, III and Tommy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Snider was born July 2 , 1929 in Davidson County to the late William Henry Snider and Olivia Mae Koonts Snider.  He was a graduate of Wake Forest College and the Bowman Gray School of Medicine.  He was a retired physician, having served Davidson County for many years. He served as a Major in the US Air Force and was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca Chaun Snider Pierce; his brothers, Ira Snider and J. W. Snider, and his sisters, Mary Craver, and Pauline Pickle.  He is survived by his wife Dottie Loy Snider of the home; three sons, David Snider and his wife Rhonda, Mark Snider and his wife Jocelyn, and Eddie Snider, all of Lexington; his brother, Paul Snider of Lexington; his grandchildren, Martha Snider, Elizabeth Buckner, Leah Snider, Chris Snider, Preston White, Matthew Snider, John Snider, and Alex Snider; and a great grandchild, Payton White.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Church Parlor.
