Douglas Harrison James, 59, a resident of Jeff Avenue, died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 4:28 AM in Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 23, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Aldridge and Rev. Richard Stegall officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Doug was born in Davidson County, NC on July 6, 1948 to the late Willie and Melvleen Beck James. He was an employee with James Auto Sales as long as health permitted, and was a former employee with Plaza Ford. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were a brother, Michael James and his grandparents, Jacob and Essie Tate. Surviving is his loving wife, Ruth Worley Lambe James, of the home; his son, Chris James and his wife, Aimee of Nashville, Tennessee; two step-sons, Phillip Lambe and Tracy Lambe and his girlfriend, Greta Hegstrom all of Lexington; his sister, Paula Piztaro and her husband, Nick of Florida; three brothers, Wesley James and his wife, Debbie, and Carlton James and his wife, Linda, all of Lexington; Danny James and his wife, Carolyn of Randleman. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 until 9 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
