Dorothy Walser

Dorothy Kathleen Byerly Walser, 84, of Alston Brook and formerly of Reedy Creek Road, died Sunday, April 11, at the nursing facility after declining health. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 14 from the Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Piedmont Funeral Home. Ms. Walser was born May 25, 1925 in Davidson County to Felix and Myrtle Walser Byerly. She retired from Dacotah Cotton Mills and attended Leonard Road Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. Her infant daughter,her brother, William “Bill” Byerly, and her sisters, Laura Jarvis and Ella Hanes, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Sarah Snyder of Lexington, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292
