Mrs. Dorothy Tripp, 91, of Lexington passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at her home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. She was born November 11, 1933, in Lexington, NC, (Davidson County) to Haven L. Koonts and Ada Athay Koonts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 74 years, Spencer Tripp, Sr., brothers Jimmy Koonts, John Koonts, and Joe Koonts, and sisters Grace Jenkins, Louise Leonard, Ann Thompson, and a granddaughter Candace Tripp Schultz.
She was a loving Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Grandma, and Great Grandma. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, daughters Teresa Watkins (Skeeter) of Denton, Gloria Lanier (Ricky) and Cathy Everhart (Steve), and a son Spencer Tripp, Jr. (Missy), and a brother Jerry Koonts, all of Lexington.
Also surviving are grandchildren Angela Cates, Tiffany Lawson, Danielle Watkins, Ashley Watkins, Travis Lanning, Jessica Lowe, Brandon Herr, Keri Lambert, Nathan Tripp, Haven Everhart, Bradley Everhart, Corey Everhart, Andrew Everhart, Ashley Pastrana, Bradley Allred, and 33 Great-Grandkids.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 4th at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Joel Smith officiating. Family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to Hospice of Davidson County, Angela Cates, and Amanda Fulp for the special care they provided for Dorothy.
