Dorothy Thompson

Mrs. Dorothy “Doris” Sidden Thompson, 90, formerly of Mitchell Ave., died Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Universal Healthcare in Concord, NC. A graveside service will be Friday at 3:00 PM at Forest Hill Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Gavin Pratt. The family will receive friends at the home at 808 Mitchell Ave. after the service. Mrs. Thompson was born in Davie County June 18, 1931 to the late Rufus Radford and Annie Stewart Sidden. A member of Fulton United Methodist Church in Davie County, she was the former owner of Berrier’s and The Heritage House Restaurant. Preceding her in death were her husband, Dr. W.B. Thompson; son, Danny Lee; son-in-law Chip Young; brothers, Nelson and J.R. Sidden; and sisters, Magdalene Phillips, Willa Mae Sidden, and Louise Smith. Surviving are daughters Doris Young and Ann Hill (Dan) all of Lexington; brother Bobby Sidden (Judy) of Fork, NC; and sister Nell Finney of Lexington. Also surviving are grandchildren Tonya Webb, Shelly Hayes (Jeff), Lisa Hill, Patricia Bartlette (Eric), and Koty Webb; and numerous great-grandchildren.
