Dorothy Swicegood

Dorothy Beatrice Swicegood, age 93 of Arbor Acres in Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Tyro United Methodist Church, where she was a member and longtime member of the Chancel Choir with Rev. Randy Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 until 11:00 prior to the service. Miss Swicegood was born in Davidson County on March 11, 1928 to William Raymond and Etta Snider Swicegood. She was a graduate of UNC-Greensboro (formerly Woman’s College) at Greensboro, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Secretarial Administration and North Carolina Secondary Teacher’s Certificate. She retired from Forsyth County Government as Executive Assistant to the County Attorney, with 36 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Ellen Louise Fritts and three brothers, Donald Ray Swicegood, Arnold Grey Swicegood and William Edward Swicegood.
